After 18 months of implementing Resolution 57, the research and development landscape in Vietnam shows significant dynamic changes, particularly in digital transformation and technological innovation. However, major challenges remain in converting scientific research results into tangible economic value for society.

Experts highlight the importance of comprehensive improvements across the innovation cycle, from the research and testing phases to product commercialization. As a solution, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is currently developing an interdisciplinary innovation space model. This model is designed to integrate the roles of research institutions, industry involvement, and investment support to ensure that research outcomes have strong market relevance.

Professor Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, emphasizes the need for courage to adopt risk-acceptance mechanisms. This is considered crucial in managing research tasks so that scientists have greater freedom to experiment. In line with this, the proposed implementation of a "green lane" mechanism has emerged as a solution to streamline administrative bureaucracy for key research universities.

In strategic technology sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), progress has been achieved through the development of V-Bench by VinUni University. Nevertheless, future AI development requires a solid national data infrastructure and a clear legal framework, including controlled testing mechanisms for new technologies. Synergy between flexible policies, strict intellectual property protection, and infrastructure support will be key to achieving national technological self-reliance in the future.
