Community stone mining activities located in the Cidahu block, Sukanegara Village, Gunungkencana District, Lebak Regency, are currently under sharp scrutiny from local residents. The exploitation activities in the area are strongly suspected of being conducted illegally and involving the use of explosives that endanger the environment and public safety.
The alleged unauthorized mining practices surfaced after several residents near the mining site raised complaints regarding activities deemed disturbing. The use of explosives in breaking rocks in the area is feared to trigger ecosystem damage while threatening the stability of the soil structure in nearby residential areas.
