A joint task force consisting of the Pekanbaru City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), along with elements of the TNI and Polri, accompanied by Commission I of the Pekanbaru City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), conducted unannounced inspections at various nightlife venues on Thursday (9/7/2026) early morning. This measure was carried out as part of strict oversight on the operations of entertainment venues to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Several locations targeted during the inspection included Gen Z Club Pekanbaru, Empire 80 Lounge and KTV, and HW Live House. Head of Pekanbaru City Satpol PP, Desheriyanto, stated that this activity aims to ensure that all business operators adhere to licensing rules and do not disturb the peace of nearby residents.
Desheriyanto emphasized that his office issued a stern warning to all venue managers against facilitating illegal activities on their premises. This includes a strict prohibition on drug trafficking and other practices that violate social norms and local regulations.
Echoing this sentiment, Chairman of Commission I of the Pekanbaru City DPRD, Robin Eduar, who took part in the inspection delegation, stressed the importance of maintaining the city's conduciveness. He reminded nightlife operators to fully commit to creating a safe environment and to strictly follow the terms of the operational permits issued by the local government.
During the inspection, the joint team also verified that venue operations did not exceed authorized limits or compromise public comfort. The DPRD hopes that ongoing supervision will establish a benchmark for nightlife operators to consistently prioritize public order in their business operations.
