The Surabaya City Government presented a prestigious award to the Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) at Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa). This appreciation was given as recognition for the faculty's strategic role in ensuring the success of the Dinamika Arek Suroboyo Hebat (DASH) program, which took place from February to April 2026.
This collaborative program targeted more than 1,200 educational units, ranging from primary to secondary school levels, with the main objective of educating the school community on the importance of child protection, bullying prevention, and mental health strengthening. A total of 125 students and faculty members were deployed directly to ensure the program delivered measurable impact on the ground.
The Dean of FPsi Unesa, Dr. Diana Rahmasari, S.Psi., M.Si., Psychologist, emphasized that the award is tangible proof of the successful synergy between higher education and local government. Through this involvement, students not only provided education, but also gained practical experience in applying psychological science to resolve social challenges in educational environments.
Moving forward, FPsi Unesa is committed to expanding the scope of its cooperation with the Surabaya City Government. Developing research-based interventions, training educators, and continuous psychological assessments will be the primary focus of the faculty to support the attainment of educational quality and psychological well-being of the community, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda.
