Allianz SE, through its subsidiary Allianz Partners, has officially announced plans for a large-scale workforce reduction. This policy targets approximately 1,500 to 1,800 positions across Europe as part of the company's transformation strategy toward digitalization and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).

Tomas Kunzmann, CEO of Allianz Partners, stated that this step was taken following the effectiveness of AI-based solutions in the company's operations. The technological transformation is deemed to have altered HR requirements, leading management to feel the need to make adjustments to the organizational structure.

The workforce reduction process will be carried out using a measured approach, including early retirement offers, severance packages, and other voluntary options. This policy was discussed through a series of intensive negotiations with works councils over the past six months.

To date, voluntary resignation offers have been opened for employees based in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Benelux region. For context, Allianz Partners currently employs a total workforce of over 22,000 people worldwide and continues its efforts to integrate automation technology to boost the efficiency of its travel insurance and emergency assistance services.
