Acceleration of Public Services, Ministry of Health Integrates SatuSehat and Dukcapil for Health Data Accuracy

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has officially integrated the SatuSehat platform with the population administration system of the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This strategic step is designed to cut bureaucracy in birth registration, accelerate the issuance of National Identification Numbers (NIK) for newborns, and strengthen the national health database.

This initiative was presented by the Head of the Data and Information Technology Center of the Ministry of Health, Eko Sulistijo, during the Dukcapil National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) in Jakarta. The integration of this system is a crucial part of the national health digital transformation, which relies on strengthening public infrastructure based on NIK and Digital Population Identity (IKD).

So far, discrepancies between administrative data and actual conditions in the field have often been an obstacle in compiling public health programs, such as immunization and stunting prevention. Based on Ministry of Health data, although around 90 percent of births have taken place in health facilities, only 41.75 percent of births were registered in Dukcapil within the first 60 days. In addition, there are around 1.6 million children under the age of 17 who are not yet registered in the population system.

Through this system collaboration, electronic medical records (RME) from health facilities will be directly connected to the Dukcapil database using the By Name By Address (BNBA) verification method. This mechanism allows the automatic issuance of the baby's NIK after the verification process is complete, followed by the delivery of the digital birth certificate directly to the parents and the hospital involved.

In addition to birth registration, this integration also covers the accuracy of recording the causes of death to support disease prevention policies. Currently, the new system is being trialed at RSAB Harapan Kita Jakarta, with a target to expand implementation to 30 vertical hospitals by mid-August.
