The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, officially kicked off a series of national political safaris with a working visit to Lampung Province on Friday (26/6/2026). Jokowi's arrival in Lampung marks the starting point of the former president's grand plan to visit all 38 provinces in Indonesia.
During his visit, Jokowi was seen wearing a white shirt paired with a cap bearing the logo of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). He explained that the attire was a gift from the General Chair of PSI, Kaesang Pangarep. Jokowi's presence at the location was warmly welcomed by party cadres who are preparing for various upcoming organizational agendas.
PSI Central Board (DPP) Chairman, Bestari Barus, stated that Jokowi's presence aims to provide a boost of motivation for regional cadres and to strengthen the foundation of PSI's organizational structure ahead of the party verification phase in 2027. Additionally, Jokowi carried an important mission to convey national messages, including the urgency of building public political awareness and maintaining public support for the continuity of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Despite showing support through party attributes, Bestari emphasized that this visit does not yet include any official announcement regarding Jokowi's specific political position within the party. Strategic decisions regarding Jokowi's formal position or role remain entirely under the authority of the General Chair of PSI.
Meanwhile, a political analyst from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Adi Prayitno, highlighted that this political safari is a strategic effort to consolidate power. The maneuver is seen as an effective instrument to strengthen PSI's electoral base while mobilizing broad support for the stability of the Prabowo-Gibran administration at the grassroots level.
Over the next three days, Jokowi is scheduled to undergo a busy agenda in Lampung, organized in coordination between volunteers and party officials. After completing the agenda in this province, the safari series will continue to all corners of Indonesia's provinces.
