Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI), Muhammad Qodari, officially opened the Nusantara Media Fest 2026-Padel event in Jakarta on Saturday (4/7). In his opening remarks, Qodari emphasized the importance of making sports a lifestyle that has a dual impact, namely improving the quality of public health and stimulating the national economy.
According to Qodari, sports have now transformed into a sector capable of generating derivative economic activities. This phenomenon is clearly evident in the increasingly popular sport of padel, where the presence of sports facilities is now often accompanied by lifestyle hubs such as cafes and restaurants. The synergy between sports facilities and supporting infrastructure is considered capable of making a tangible contribution to local economic growth.
In addition to highlighting the economic aspect, Qodari expressed appreciation for the staging of Nusantara Media Fest 2026 as a gathering space for members of the press. He stressed that amidst high mobility and the demanding speed of information, it is important for journalists to maintain physical fitness through regular sports activities.
On the same occasion, Qodari emphasized that the position of the media is vital as a strategic partner for the government. He expressed hope that the partnership between the government and the mass media will continue to be well-maintained in efforts to disseminate information about various government programs and development achievements to the broader public.
