TULANG BAWANG – In commemoration of Palapa Satellite Day, the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Tulang Bawang Regency emphasized the importance of digital technology's role in safeguarding the democratic process. Digital transformation is considered a strategic instrument to expand the reach of education and efforts to prevent election violations at the regional level.
Tulang Bawang Regency Bawaslu member, Desi Triyana, stated that current advancements in communication technology open up great opportunities for election supervisors to interact more effectively with the public. According to her, digital media has a broad and fast reach, making it crucial in inclusively disseminating election rules to the public.
"The use of digital media allows violation prevention messages to reach a wider audience. With sound digital literacy, the public is expected to better understand regulations and actively participate in monitoring the stages of the election," said Desi on Thursday (July 9, 2026).
Desi emphasized that synergy between technological advancement and massive public participation is key to delivering political contests with integrity. Her agency is committed to continuously optimizing digital channels to ensure election information is delivered accurately, thereby minimizing loopholes for violations in the field.
