The Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Surakarta took a strategic step in strengthening the campus entrepreneurship ecosystem through a working visit to the Business Development Center (PPB) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta on Tuesday (7/7/2026). This visit aimed to absorb best practices in university asset-based business governance management.

The ISI Solo delegation, led by the Head of the Center for Business and Asset Optimization (BOA), Dr. Ranang Agung Sugihartono, attended alongside the leadership of relevant bureaus and units. The main focus of the discussion included the development of business unit management, creative business incubation strategies, and steps to optimize campus assets to ensure sustainable economic value for the institution.

Dr. Ranang revealed that this visit is an effort by his institution to transform the potential of students' and lecturers' artworks into structured market commodities. "We possess an extraordinary wealth of creative works. Through this comparative study, we hope to adopt the professional management of UIN Sunan Kalijaga so that these art products can penetrate the industrial market more effectively," he explained.

UIN Sunan Kalijaga, through the Business Development Center, provided a comprehensive presentation on managing business units under the Public Service Agency (BLU) scheme. The discussion highlighted the importance of asset diversification, ranging from hotel management and sports facilities to other public service business units that have proven to generate significant revenue for the campus.

The series of activities concluded with a direct inspection of various business units owned by UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Both parties hope this visit will serve as the initial foundation for a sustainable collaboration that combines the artistic creativity excellence of ISI Solo with the business governance expertise of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, to advance the creative economy within higher education.
