Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) officially closed the series of the Padjadjaran Young Entrepreneurs (WMP) 2026 program in a send-off ceremony held at Bale Sawala, Unpad Rectorate Building, Jatinangor, on Tuesday (30/06/2026). A total of 250 students from various disciplines completed the intensive coaching program aimed at producing innovative entrepreneurs within the academic community.
The WMP 2026 program is designed as a comprehensive learning ecosystem for students. During the mentoring period, participants not only gained an understanding of the entrepreneurial mindset but were also trained in developing business models, product development, and marketing strategies relevant to today's market dynamics.
Rector of Unpad, Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita, emphasized that entrepreneurial skills are crucial competencies for university graduates in the modern era. He hoped that the alumni of this program would become agents of change who not only pursue profit but also deliver positive impact and real benefits to the wider community.
Unpad Director of Student Affairs, Inu Isnaeni Sidiq, Ph.D., added that this program focuses on mental resilience in facing business challenges. “Students are guided to be able to see opportunities amidst uncertainty and dare to execute their innovative ideas,” said Inu.
On the same occasion, the Minister of Cooperatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ferry Juliantono, was also present to provide insights on the importance of integrating the entrepreneurial spirit with modern cooperative principles. According to him, the younger generation plays a strategic role in transforming cooperatives into collaborative professional business entities capable of supporting the pillars of the national economy in a sustainable manner.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion session featuring business practitioners and academics. Through this cross-sector collaboration, Unpad is committed to continuing to strengthen partnership networks to facilitate the birth of competitive young entrepreneurs with high integrity.
