The Deputy Regent of Pemalang, Nurkholes, officially opened the Sports and Arts Week (Porseni) organized by the Sub-Branch Executive (PAC) of IPNU-IPPNU Ulujami District in Botekan Village on Friday (3/7/2026). This event serves as a strategic momentum in efforts to scout young talents in both sports and arts.
In his speech, Nurkholes emphasized that the Pemalang Regency Government pays great attention to the development of the sports sector. As concrete proof, the government has allocated a budget of IDR 5 billion to KONI in 2026 to optimize athlete training and facilities supporting achievements in the region.
Furthermore, Nurkholes highlighted the strategic role of youth activities like Porseni as a forum for character building. According to him, this event is not merely a competition to win titles, but an effective means of instilling the values of sportsmanship, leadership, and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among Nahdlatul Ulama cadres.
In addition to youth development, the Pemalang Regency Government is also committed to equitable infrastructure development. Nurkholes ensured that the reconstruction of concrete roads in several areas of the Ulujami District will be carried out gradually throughout 2026 to support accessibility and the economic mobility of residents.
On the other hand, organizing this Porseni also has a positive impact on the local economy by involving MSME players. This synergy between organizational activities, economic empowerment, and infrastructure support is expected to continue to create a more empowered and character-driven Pemalang community ecosystem.
