The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Gunung Mas Regency has issued a strong appeal to the public not to lose momentum in conveying their development aspirations. Although the current regional financial reality faces budget constraints, active citizen participation in the Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) forums remains a crucial instrument for the region's progress.
Gunung Mas DPRD member Endra stated that Musrenbang is an official and strategic channel for synchronizing citizens' real needs with government policies. Vital sectors such as road infrastructure improvements, educational facility construction, and healthcare strengthening must be ensured to enter the regional development priority list through this mechanism.
“The local government will not know the urgency of needs if the community does not voice them. Therefore, Musrenbang must be utilized optimally by citizens from the village to sub-district levels as a formal venue for submitting aspirations,” Endra said when interviewed on Wednesday (8/7).
The PDI Perjuangan politician acknowledged that not all development proposals can be realized instantly due to limited fiscal capacity. However, he stressed that such constraints should not serve as an excuse for the government to continuously ignore community needs.
Endra also urged the local government along with Regional Government Agencies (OPD) to establish a sharper and more accurate planning system in filtering community proposals. This is necessary so that urgent development programs can be prioritized, while long-term needs remain safeguarded within a measurable and sustainable planning roadmap.
