PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially completed the structuring and simplification process of the business structure for 31 subsidiary entities throughout the first semester of 2026. This strategic step was taken as a form of corporate transformation to build a more agile organization that is aligned with the vision of the government and Danantara.
Pertamina's Director of Business Transformation and Sustainability, Agung Wicaksono, revealed that the main objective of this restructuring is to consolidate core business lines. The primary focus is to increase the company's competitiveness and strengthen Pertamina's strategic role in maintaining national energy security and making a tangible contribution to the domestic economy.
This efficiency strategy was implemented through a series of corporate actions, including business mergers, divestment of non-core business lines, and the liquidation of inactive or dormant companies, especially in the upstream oil and gas sector. The step to dissolve the legal entities of non-operating units was taken to cut internal bureaucracy so that the decision-making process runs faster and more efficiently.
Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, emphasized that the entire process of this organizational streamlining was carried out in compliance with Good Corporate Governance principles. The management also ensured that every action taken remained within the legal framework in force in Indonesia.
To ensure transparency and accountability, Pertamina is actively coordinating with various relevant institutions, including law enforcement officials, auditing agencies, and internal parties such as labor unions. Through this massive structural reorganization, Pertamina is optimistic about becoming a healthier, more competitive, and accountable state-owned enterprise in serving the public.
