A unique natural phenomenon has once again graced the Mount Papandayan area in Garut Regency. A layer of frost now blankets the vegetation around the mountain after air temperatures reportedly plummeted to 1 degree Celsius.
This extreme cold weather condition often occurs during the peak of the dry season in highland regions. The significant drop in temperature from night to early morning causes water vapor in the area to freeze, forming ice crystals that cling to leaves and the ground surface.
This frost phenomenon has become a special attraction for hikers and tourists visiting Mount Papandayan. Despite offering stunning views, the management still advises the public and tourists to prepare adequate hiking equipment and warm clothing to anticipate the cold temperatures, which can affect physical health.
