Efforts to suppress the spread of Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) continue to be intensified in the Banyumas Regency area. Through synergy between the police force and local health workers, active door-to-door tracing and health screening activities were conducted directly at residents' homes in Karangpetir Village, Tambak District, on Wednesday (15/7/2026).
This humanitarian action was driven by the Bhabinkamtibmas (Community Police Officer) of the Tambak Sector Police of the Banyumas Police, Aipda Lanang Triyono, who collaborated with local pulmonary TB cadres, namely Mrs. Rukhanah and Mrs. Umi. This preventive measure, centered in the RT 03 RW 04 neighborhood, was also accompanied by the village PKK (Family Welfare Movement) Chairwoman and attended by local residents who cooperatively participated in the initial medical examination.
During the activity, officers focused on monitoring three active patients. To anticipate wider transmission, health cadres distributed sputum sample bottles to patients and family members living in the same household. Close contacts became a priority for data collection to ensure their health status is monitored regularly.
The Chief of Banyumas Police, Police Grand Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Petrus P. Silalahi, through the Chief of Tambak Police, Police Inspector First Class (Iptu) Sabar Riyadi, emphasized that the presence of the National Police (Polri) in the early detection of Pulmonary TB is a concrete manifestation of support for national health programs. The active involvement of the Bhabinkamtibmas is expected to bridge the public's medical needs while raising awareness among residents not to hesitate to check themselves at health facilities.
With this integrated monitoring, the medical treatment of Pulmonary TB patients in Banyumas is expected to run more optimally. The field screening activity, which proceeded safely and conducively, is also targeted to effectively break the chain of transmission within families and the wider community.
