The construction project of the Merah Putih Cooperative (KMP) located in Gunung Anyar Village, Surabaya, is reported to be fully completed. The building, standing on land assets owned by the Surabaya City Government on Jalan Gunung Anyar Jaya Utara, is now in ready-to-use condition, awaiting the official operational schedule.
The location of the KMP is highly strategic as it is situated in a high-activity area, namely around the Gunung Anyar Sawah low-cost apartment complex (Rusunawa), the Paving Labor-Intensive area, and close to the educational campuses of UPN and Poltekpel. Overall, the 900-square-meter plot of land has been optimally utilized, with the main building covering an area of 600 square meters, functioning as retail outlets, warehouses, and a health clinic.
Babinsa of Gunung Anyar Village, Guntoro Wicaksono, revealed that the physical construction of the building, which began in November 2025, was completed in February 2026. Although not yet open to the public, internal facilities such as storage shelves, digital cashier systems, air conditioning units, and CCTV security systems have been properly installed.
In addition to the building facilities, supporting mobility equipment has also been prepared for field operations. A total of four operational vehicles, consisting of one truck, one pickup truck, and two three-wheeled motorcycles, have been deployed at the location.
Regarding the opening schedule, Guntoro explained that his party is still waiting for further direction and technical operational guidelines from the central office. The cooperative outlet is scheduled to start operating and hold its launch this coming October.
