The dynamics of the summer transfer market ahead of the 2026/2027 Premier League season are heating up. Several Premier League giants continue to make moves to strengthen their squad composition. After Chelsea successfully hijacked Arsenal's pursuit of Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers, top clubs immediately shifted their radar to alternative potential targets to refine their team strategy.
Arsenal moved quickly to restore their attacking threat. The Gunners' Sporting Director, Andrea Berta, is reportedly holding intensive talks to bring Julian Alvarez back to English soil. Although Atletico Madrid had previously rejected a €150 million offer from a Spanish giant, Berta's personal relationship with the Argentine forward is expected to be Arsenal's trump card. In addition to a forward, the Gunners' backline also needs reinforcement following William Saliba's injury, with veteran defender John Stones emerging as a primary option.
