The Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP, Mukhamad Misbakhun, delivered a crucial message to all political party elites in Indonesia. He urged political figures to demonstrate maturity in responding to evolving national dynamics in order to maintain conducive social and political stability in society.
Misbakhun emphasized that the presence of political parties should bring reassurance to the public. He highlighted the importance for elites not to merely pursue power, but to focus on the moral responsibility of providing exemplary leadership and real solutions amidst various national challenges.
Furthermore, Misbakhun highlighted the phenomenon of ambiguous or "two-faced" political stances in response to government policies. According to him, political parties need to show a firm and consistent position to avoid causing public confusion and to maintain public trust in the national constitutional system.
Although differing views are common in a democracy, Misbakhun emphasized that any criticism should be delivered with full responsibility and ethics. He warned that opportunistic political tactics, such as supporting government programs but refusing to take responsibility when obstacles arise, are not elegant moves.
Facing global economic challenges and geopolitical dynamics, he called for a spirit of national politics that prioritizes national interests over short-term practical interests. Cross-party collaboration is deemed the main key to addressing various current national development challenges.
