The initiator of the National Conscience Movement (GNK), Habib Syakur Ali Mahdi Al Hamid, provided a critical view regarding former President Joko Widodo's active involvement in national political dynamics. While acknowledging Jokowi's constitutional rights as a citizen, Habib Syakur emphasized the importance of maintaining ethics as someone who led the nation for two terms.
According to Habib Syakur, Jokowi's still-enormous influence demands extra wisdom in every public statement. He considers involvement in political party campaigns or discussions regarding the upcoming presidential succession to be unethical for a former head of state, who should instead position himself as a statesman.
Furthermore, Habib Syakur argued that the current administration needs stability to focus on the national development agenda. He suggested that electoral political narratives not be reintroduced into the public space to avoid polarization that could disrupt the government's concentration on serving the community.
In addition to highlighting the political aspect, Habib Syakur also commented on the legal proceedings regarding the alleged fake diploma, which has now entered the trial phase. He encouraged all parties to respect the ongoing judicial process.
In the context of legal proof, he suggested that original documents be presented in court if necessary. This step is deemed necessary so that the public polemic can be resolved immediately through an objective and transparent judge's ruling, rather than continuing to be a subject of public speculation.
