The Government Inspectorate of Indonesia has officially announced the commencement of a large-scale thematic inspection targeting the oil business sector. This strategic move is taken as an effort for comprehensive supervision over the governance of an industry that serves as the backbone of the national economy.
This comprehensive audit covers the operational period between January 1, 2024, and June 30, 2026. With a working duration of 30 days starting from July 8, the inspection team, led by Senior Inspector Nguyen Manh Cuong, will examine 260 business entities included in the audit target list.
In his directive, Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized the importance of objectivity and effectiveness during the inspection process. The inspection team is instructed to carry out their duties with high integrity without disrupting the normal operations of the companies or related agencies. The main focus of this audit is to identify loopholes in management mechanisms, evaluate the implementation of regulations, and take firm action against potential legal violations found in the field.
Furthermore, the findings from this inspection will later be used as a basis for recommending regulatory improvements. This aims to close existing policy loopholes while raising state governance standards in the energy sector. All parties subject to the audit are required to be cooperative, provide accurate documentation, and appoint a representative to facilitate coordination during the verification process.
