The Kerinci Class II Non-TPI Immigration Office has innovated its public services by introducing the "Pasporia" (Cheerful Passport Service) program at the Car Free Day (CFD) area of Jalur Dua Taman Bujang Upik, Merangin Regency, Jambi. This proactive outreach service, held on Sunday (2/8/2026), allows the public to conveniently process international travel documents while enjoying morning sports activities with their families.
The activity, which ran from 07:00 to 12:00 WIB, immediately attracted the attention of CFD visitors. The Head of the Kerinci Class II Non-TPI Immigration Office, Purnomo, revealed that this program was designed to cut down the distance and travel time for Merangin residents, who usually have to travel far to the immigration office in Kerinci Regency. Through a more relaxed concept, the public can access state administrative services in the middle of a public space.
At the temporary booth, immigration officers provided complete services ranging from document verification and interviews to biometric data recording and photo taking. A total of 30 passport applications were successfully processed that day. The high public interest even caused the daily quota provided to be temporarily exceeded, although officers faced technical internet connection issues which were eventually resolved successfully.
Despite receiving an overwhelmingly positive response, Purnomo explained that the Pasporia service in the CFD area is still in the trial phase and will not be held weekly yet. The immigration office will continue to evaluate the program's effectiveness and coordinate with the Merangin Regency Government to determine the schedule for the next implementation based on the needs of the local community.
