The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, made a working visit to Mesuji Regency, Lampung, on Friday (June 26, 2026), to attend the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). The presence of Indonesia's former number one person caught public attention, especially given his open appearance wearing the insignia of the rose-logoed party since departing from Solo.
Chairman of the PSI Central Executive Board (DPP), Bestari Barus, confirmed that during the event, Jokowi was scheduled to deliver strategic directives to the party cadres. In addition to offering motivation, the former president was expected to present his critical views on current national political dynamics while reaffirming his support for the continuation of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's administration.
Jokowi's use of PSI attire, including a hat featuring an elephant logo and a party t-shirt, was interpreted as a strong symbol that he has officially anchored his political direction within PSI. This move also serves as an answer to various speculations regarding Jokowi's political stance post-presidency.
However, PSI has not yet detailed what structural position or role Jokowi will assume. Bestari emphasized that all administrative decisions concerning Jokowi's formal role will follow internal party mechanisms. The announcement of any strategic appointment will be made by the PSI General Chair at a moment deemed most appropriate.
