PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik), a subsidiary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), recorded a stellar performance in its retail cargo business line during the first half of 2026. Company data showed a 17 percent year-on-year increase in cargo volume through the KALOG Express service, rising from 29,573 tons in the same period last year to 34,651 tons.

KAI Logistik Business Development Director, Aniek Dwi Deviyanti, revealed that this volume increase is equivalent to managing approximately 1.67 million shipments during the January to June 2026 period. The variety of transported commodities has also become increasingly diverse, including general packages, bicycles, electronic devices, and pet distribution needs, indicating growing public trust in rail-based logistics services.

The peak performance occurred in June 2026, when shipping volume reached 6,170 tons. One of the main drivers was the high demand for motorcycle shipments, which reached around 13,000 units in that single month. Accumulatively, KAI Logistik distributed more than 70,000 units of motorcycles during the first half of this year, which the public utilized for various mobility purposes, including travel for holidays and education.

In an effort to strengthen market penetration and accessibility, the company has added 16 KALOG Express service points scattered across strategic areas of Java Island, including Jakarta, Bandung, Magetan, Sleman, Bojonegoro, and Surabaya. This physical expansion step goes hand in hand with the acceleration of digital transformation through the optimization of the KAI Logistik TRAX application.

Moving forward, KAI Logistik is committed to continuously improving operational capacity and expanding network reach. Digitalization of services remains a top priority to ensure a more efficient, transparent distribution process capable of meeting the broader logistics needs of the community in the future.
