The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Bangkok has confirmed that, so far, no Indonesian citizens (WNI) were among the victims of the deadly fire at a nightlife venue in the Chatuchak district of Bangkok, Thailand. The fire disaster, which occurred on July 12, 2026, reportedly claimed dozens of lives.
According to official reports from local authorities, the fire tragedy resulted in at least 27 deaths due to heavy smoke inhalation, while 63 others were injured, including 22 victims currently in critical condition. The fire is suspected to have been triggered by smoke from a circuit breaker near the stage area, which was subsequently followed by a power outage and a severe explosion.
The Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok continues to coordinate closely with local police, hospitals, and Lat Phrao district authorities to monitor the situation on the ground. To date, the Embassy emphasized that it has not received any reports of Indonesian citizens being injured or killed in the incident.
Currently, the exact cause of the fire is still under deep investigation by relevant Thai authorities. The Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok also stated its readiness to immediately provide assistance and consular support should any Indonesian citizens be affected by this tragedy.
