A forest fire has hit the Regional Conservation Resort (RKW) 06 area of Mount Biru, located in the Anjasmoro Mountain range, Mojokerto Regency. Hotspots were reported around Gumeng Village and Begaganlimo Village, Gondang District.
Head of UPT Tahura R Soerjo, Agustiningtyas Marini, revealed that the terrain leading to the fire location is highly challenging. Based on initial monitoring, the hotspot is located on one of the hills of Mount Biru, surrounded by steep cliffs and ravines, making direct access difficult for officers.
From a distance, two separate hotspots with thick plumes of smoke are visible, indicating a relatively large fire. In response to this situation, the Tahura R Soerjo authorities immediately coordinated with both regency and provincial levels of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), as well as local police.
To date, a total of four firefighting teams have been deployed to the location to contain the fire. In addition, a special team has also been stationed at the peak of Cendono Hill to continuously perform visual monitoring to guide the movement of personnel on the ground.
