The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has begun implementing new standards in Hajj health services by prioritizing a stricter preventive approach. This effort is realized through strategic collaboration with the TNI Health Center to ensure all pilgrims are in prime health condition before performing their worship in Saudi Arabia.

Head of the Hajj Health Center at Kemenhaj, Dani Pramudya, emphasized that this transformation focuses on strengthening the implementation of health istithaah as an absolute requirement for departure. The guidance system is now designed so that the physical condition of pilgrims can be continuously monitored starting one year prior to the scheduled departure.

This step aims to detect various health risks early, particularly for pilgrims with comorbidities or underlying conditions such as severe hypertension, heart disease, and kidney failure. With early detection, health personnel can provide more tailored assistance to minimize risks while pilgrims are in the Holy Land.

In addition to medical monitoring, the synergy between Kemenhaj and the TNI also includes the development of health manasik. This program aims to enable pilgrims to be more independent in managing their physical fitness and controlling their illnesses through adequate medical understanding before carrying out the Hajj rituals.

As a follow-up, both institutions will soon formulate operational technical steps involving cross-sectoral coordination with regional health offices and hospital networks. This integrated synergy is expected to serve as a strong foundation for creating a more effective, safe, and sustainable Hajj health ecosystem in the future.
