Facing the rapid acceleration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Indonesia's younger generation is urged not only to rely on digital literacy but also to strengthen intellectual competence and critical thinking. This message was delivered by the Head of the National Institute of Public Administration (LAN) RI, Muhammad Taufiq, during a public lecture at Cordoba Islamic University (UI Cordoba), Banyuwangi, on Friday (3/7/2026).

In his presentation titled "Becoming a Lifelong Learning Generation", Taufiq emphasized that the period of study in higher education is the initial gateway to the actual learning process. He urged students not to be quickly satisfied with academic achievements, but to continue instilling a lifelong learning spirit to face the challenges of a dynamic world.

Taufiq also highlighted the role of AI as a very strategic supporting instrument in the government and public service sectors. Although technology can drastically accelerate work efficiency, he reminded that essential aspects such as integrity, empathy, and human wisdom remain irreplaceable by even the most sophisticated computing systems.

Echoing this sentiment, the Rector of UI Cordoba, Prof. Dr. Agus Trihartono, revealed that the presence of national practitioners on campus aims to equip students with relevant leadership insights. This step is expected to shape the character of students who are not only adaptive to technological changes, but also highly concerned with social reality and public policy in Indonesia.
