Running a business while completing postgraduate studies is no easy feat, but Ahbarina Novia Rahma has proven it is possible. The young woman from Pati, affectionately known as Rina, has successfully expanded her wholesale business of Scout equipment and school supplies amidst her busy schedule writing her thesis for the Master of Notary Studies program at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta.
Located on Indrakila Street, Sukoharjo Indah Housing, Sukoharjo Village, Margorejo District, Pati Regency, the store provides various needs, from uniforms, Scout attributes, institutional logos, to Independence Day celebration supplies. Rina began focusing on managing this family business in 2019 and has run it independently without parental involvement since 2020.
In her daily operations, the alumna of Constitutional Law from UIN Salatiga handles almost the entire process herself. This ranges from serving customers, checking inventory, embroidering custom orders, to digitally marketing her products through TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to reach a wider market.
Thanks to her perseverance and good communication strategies, the market Rina serves has now expanded beyond the Pati Regency. In addition to serving local schools and distributors in other regions, she has even managed to attract customers from as far away as Papua. For her, the main key to retaining customers is friendly and sincere service.
Before reaching this level of success, Rina admitted she experienced ups and downs and failed multiple times in other businesses, such as selling bags, sleepwear, and watches. These experiences, combined with strong motivation from her parents, became valuable lessons that shaped her resilient mentality in managing her current business.
