The elected General Chairperson of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) for East Kalimantan Province, H. Anderiy Syachrum, made an official visit to the KONI headquarters in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (6/7/2026). This meeting was a crucial step in coordinating the new management for the 2026-2030 period, as well as finalizing the agenda for the organization's inauguration and installation.

During the meeting, the General Chairperson of Central KONI, Retired Lt. Gen. Marciano Norman, expressed high appreciation for East Kalimantan's commitment to developing the sports sector. He assessed that strong synergy between KONI East Kalimantan and the Provincial Government is vital capital for creating strategic innovations in regional athlete development.

Marciano emphasized that East Kalimantan has a large potential base and vast room for development. He hopes that Anderiy Syachrum's leadership can embrace all elements of the sports community to unite in order to create a more competitive and sustainable achievement ecosystem in the future.

Highlighting the national agenda, the First Vice General Chairperson of Central KONI, Retired Maj. Gen. Dr. Suwarno, stressed the urgency of preparing for the XXII National Sports Week (PON) in 2028 in East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. According to him, East Kalimantan's KONI must immediately carry out precise athlete mapping post-qualification.

Tactical steps such as identifying athlete potential and maximizing the fulfillment of supporting needs are key points so that East Kalimantan can achieve the expected performance targets. This audience is expected to ignite the spirit of the new board members to build an effective development system to produce athletes who are competitive nationally and internationally.
