A land fire occurred in the Mount Wangun area, Bogor City, on Monday (13/7/2026) night. The fire reportedly started burning the reed-covered area at around 18:10 WIB, sparking concern among nearby residents about the potential spread of the flames to residential areas.
Head of the Fire Suppression and Rescue Division of the Bogor City Fire Department, M. Ade Nugraha, explained that the incident report was received at 18:20 WIB. In response to the report, a firefighting team was immediately deployed and arrived at the scene at 18:31 WIB to conduct extinguishing efforts.
To date, authorities have been unable to determine the exact cause of the fire, as the location was quiet when the incident occurred. The fire was already large when it was first noticed by local residents.
The extinguishing process lasted approximately 50 minutes, including the cooling phase at the hotspots. Thanks to the quick response of the firefighters, the fire was completely extinguished, and the situation at the location was declared safe and under control.
