Search efforts for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency, namely Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15), continue to be intensified as they enter their sixth day on Tuesday (7/7/2026). The joint search and rescue (SAR) team is now using thermal drone technology and the help of sniffer dogs to comb the area where the two victims are suspected to have gone missing.

The incident began on Tuesday (6/30/2026) afternoon, when the two teenagers left their home without saying goodbye to their families. Head of Watumalang District, Arief Hardiyanto, revealed that local residents had spotted the two near the Krinjing Village bridge shortly before they were suspected of deciding to climb Mount Bismo via the Rejosari Hamlet route.

The family had conducted an independent search involving local residents after the victims went missing, but so far their whereabouts remain unknown. Limited information regarding the route taken has prompted authorities to continue expanding the search area on the mountain slopes.

Head of Krinjing Village, Mulno, provided an important note regarding the geographical conditions of his area. He stressed that access to Mount Bismo from Krinjing Village is not an official hiking trail managed through a basecamp. This complicates the search and rescue process because the terrain covered consists of unofficial, unmapped paths for hikers.
