The Pemalang Regency Government, in collaboration with Kodim 0711/Pemalang, held a joint watch party (nobar) for the 2026 World Cup quarter-final match between Argentina and Switzerland. The event, which took place at the Pemalang Regency Pendopo on Sunday morning (12/7/2026), served as an effective means to strengthen ties between the bureaucracy, security forces, and the general public.
Before the match began, local enthusiasm was evident from early morning through various supporting activities. The festivities started with group gymnastics, various fun games, the launch of the "Sapa Ikhlas" community program, and local art performances featuring traditional dances and wayang kulit (shadow puppets). In addition, an exciting door prize draw presented directly by the Regent of Pemalang during the half-time break added to the lively atmosphere.
The Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro, stated that this public screening was not merely sports entertainment, but also a humanistic bridge of communication between the local government and its citizens. He hoped that the spirit of sportsmanship and perseverance shown by global football teams would motivate the youth of Pemalang to excel in sports.
In the match, Argentina defeated Switzerland with a final score of 3-1, securing their place in the semifinals. The Commander of Kodim 0711/Pemalang, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Edy Wibowo, added that similar watch parties were held simultaneously across all Military Sub-District Commands (Koramil) in the Pemalang region. This step was taken to strengthen the unity between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the people, as well as to solidify the three-pillar synergy among the local government, TNI, and the National Police (Polri).
