The application of biometric technology in the BPJS Kesehatan service system has become a crucial breakthrough in accelerating the identity verification process for National Health Insurance (JKN) patients at RSUP Ngoerah, Denpasar. This innovation is designed to create significant administrative efficiency at the referral hospital.
Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, during a review of the facility on Wednesday (8/7/2026), emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring quality, fast, and inclusive national healthcare services. He stressed that access to health insurance must be provided without discrimination to all levels of society.
Director of Health Service Coverage of BPJS Kesehatan, Abdi Kurniawan Purba, explained that biometric integration is part of the JKN digital ecosystem. This system operates comprehensively, from registration through the Mobile JKN application to on-site physical verification, aiming to minimize queue durations and provide convenience for participants requiring immediate medical attention.
The effectiveness of this service is also felt by patients' families. One JKN participant, Riyanto, expressed his appreciation for the administrative convenience implemented. He stated that the presence of an efficient system and the professional attitude of medical staff at RSUP Ngoerah provide a sense of security for his family in receiving adequate health protection from the state.
