The Semarang Branch of BPJS Kesehatan continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the quality of service for participants of the National Health Insurance (JKN). As of early July 2026, active membership in Semarang City has reached 100 percent, totaling 1,702,768 people, while in Demak Regency it reached 99.42 percent, equivalent to 1,259,386 people. This Universal Health Coverage (UHC) achievement has been successfully maintained thanks to strong synergy with various stakeholders.

The Head of the Semarang Branch of BPJS Kesehatan, Debbie Nianta Musigiasari, revealed that digital service transformation is the main focus to facilitate administrative access for the public. Various non-face-to-face channels continue to be optimized, ranging from the Administration Service via WhatsApp (Pandawa), the Mobile JKN application, to the Care Center 165 contact center. For residents who still prefer to visit the branch office, an online queuing system has now been integrated through the Mobile JKN application to minimize waiting times.

In terms of providing medical facilities, BPJS Kesehatan Semarang has partnered with hundreds of healthcare facilities to ensure service affordability. Currently, there are 356 Primary Healthcare Facilities (FKTP), 40 Advanced Referral Healthcare Facilities (FKRTL), as well as dozens of supporting pharmacies, laboratories, and opticians ready to serve JKN patients.

Furthermore, access to high-tech medical procedures is now being further expanded. Advanced services such as cardiac catheterization (cath lab), chemotherapy, and radiotherapy can now be accessed in an integrated manner at several leading partner hospitals in Semarang, including RSUP dr. Kariadi, RS Telogorejo, Diponegoro National Hospital, and RSUD Dr. Adhyatma. This policy is expected to eliminate financial and geographical barriers for patients requiring specialized care.

To assist participants who face financial constraints in settling arrears, BPJS Kesehatan has launched version 3.0 of the Gradual Payment Plan (REHAB) program. Through this new system, participants are given the flexibility to pay premium arrears in installments with daily, weekly, or monthly payment options. Simultaneously, a customer needs survey is also being conducted until mid-August 2026 to gather feedback from the public for continuous service improvement.
