The Badung Regency Government continues to finalize strategies to reinforce the region's position as a premier sports-based tourism (sport tourism) destination. This step is realized through the hosting of the 2026 Badung Regent's Cup Championship, which involves the participation of 40 sports branches and is scheduled to run until coming September.

The Regent of Badung, I Wayan Adi Arnawa, emphasized the importance of having a consistent sports events calendar throughout the year. According to him, the continuity of competitions is the key to boosting visits from tourists, athletes, and officials to the region. Therefore, KONI Badung has been instructed to draft a structured tournament agenda to support the sustainable development of local athletes.

In line with this vision, the Badung Regency Government has also begun exploring plans for global-scale sports infrastructure development, including the construction of a stadium in the Abiansemal area and international-standard swimming pool facilities. The local government is committed to building facilities that are not only capable but also meet the qualifications to host world-level championships in the future.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of KONI Badung, I Made Sutama, stated that the Regent's Cup event is a crucial instrument for evaluating athlete preparations ahead of the 2027 Bali Provincial Sports Week (Porprov). This competition is viewed as an effective means to maintain the overall championship title that Badung has won ten consecutive times, as well as a talent scout for potential local athletes.
