The Bandung City Government is processing strategic steps regarding the arrangement and management of the Bandung Zoo. Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, revealed that the partnership phase with PT Fauna Land Ancol (Faunaland)—as the auction winner—has now entered a crucial business calculation phase.
In his statement on the sidelines of the National Taekwondo Championship at the GOR Bandung Arena on Saturday (4/7/2026), Farhan emphasized that the Bandung City Government holds a strict supervisory role. The city government is committed to not intervening in the business domain, while ensuring that every agreement made by the management partner remains within the applicable legal regulatory corridors.
Farhan expressed optimism that the entire administrative and technical process can be fully completed throughout July 2026. He appreciated the swift action of the selected partner, which met its financial obligations by paying an annual contribution of IDR 4.3 billion just two days after being named the auction winner.
Furthermore, the Bandung City Government is currently focusing on completing administrative requirements and other supporting regulations. Once all requirements are met and alignment between business interests and legal rules is achieved, both parties are scheduled to sign the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) as the operational foundation moving forward.
