The Jayapura City Government has strictly instructed all healthcare workers serving at community health centers to place human values as the top priority in providing medical services. This policy stresses the importance of providing immediate emergency care to every patient in need, without being delayed by administrative obligations.
Mayor of Jayapura, Abisai Rollo, stated that saving lives must be the main foundation of every service procedure in healthcare facilities. According to him, medical personnel are not justified in delaying emergency treatment for patients simply due to incomplete documents or administrative requirements.
"Staff at health centers must serve the public promptly. If residents arrive sick and in need of help, treat them immediately. Administrative matters can be handled after the patient's condition is stable and they have received adequate medical treatment," Abisai said in his statement in Jayapura.
Furthermore, Abisai highlighted the strategic role of Jayapura City as the capital of Papua Province, which often serves as a healthcare referral center for residents from various regions. He stressed that health facilities in his area must be able to provide professional, friendly, and inclusive services regardless of the patient's residency background.
