The Pariaman City Government hosted a joint sports event with Padang Naval Region Command II (Kodaeral II) on Friday (June 26, 2026). Held at the Rajo Bujang Sports Hall (GOR) and Tennis Court, the event was attended directly by Mayor of Pariaman Yota Balad, Deputy Mayor Mulyadi, along with officials from the Pariaman City Government.
Yota Balad stated that this agenda serves as a strategic effort to build more fluid and effective communication between institutions. According to him, synergy built outside formal settings can foster harmonization that positively impacts public services and strengthens cooperation in tackling future regional challenges.
Echoing these sentiments, Commander of Kodaeral II Padang, Rear Admiral TNI Sarimpunan Tanjung, emphasized the importance of solidarity between the Navy and the local government. He reaffirmed full commitment to supporting various development programs in Pariaman City to achieve more equitable public welfare.
A warm atmosphere filled the tennis and badminton matches. More than just a physical activity to maintain fitness, the event featured musical entertainment performed by Pariaman City Government staff and Kodaeral II personnel, further breaking the ice between the two institutions.
