Perhutani KPH Semarang takes a strategic step in improving commercial business governance through a comprehensive evaluation of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) instruments. This step was initiated to respond to the need for a more accountable administrative system, while simultaneously protecting state assets from potential legal disputes in the future.
The two-day agenda in the Bandungan area, Semarang Regency, involved the board of directors of Perhutani Central Java Regional Division and leaders from all work units. The main focus of the activity was to provide technical training on contract drafting for unit officials, ranging from the legal, business development, to asset optimization departments.
Head of the Law, Compliance, Agrarian, and Corporate Communications Sub-Section of Perhutani KPH Semarang, Retno Kusumah, stated that a deep understanding of regulations is crucial. According to her, standardizing contract drafts in alignment with national laws will serve as a strong foundation to expand the commercial forestry market niche without neglecting corporate compliance principles.
With the synchronization of understanding at the regional level, management targets a more measurable increase in annual revenue. In addition, a more solid administrative system is expected to shield the company in conducting its business operations, while ensuring the continuity of state revenue remains well maintained.
