The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government celebrated the 24th anniversary of Pulang Pisau Regency by launching pro-people programs at H.M. Sanusi Stadium on Saturday (11/7/2026). The Governor of Central Kalimantan, Agustiar Sabran, officially opened the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) and Free Health Checkup (CKG) services aimed at alleviating the economic burden on the local community.
In his speech, Governor Agustiar emphasized that this initiative targets vulnerable groups, ranging from temporary workers, laborers, fishermen, to low-rank civil servants (ASN). The food subsidy program is ensured to continue operating despite the regional government undergoing budget efficiency measures. According to the Governor, the government's top priority is ensuring that tangible programs touching directly on citizens' basic needs continue to be realized.
Furthermore, the Governor emphasized his vision for equitable development across all regions of Central Kalimantan. He committed to ensuring that the benefits of development enjoyed by residents in the provincial capital must also be felt by communities in all corners of regencies, including Pulang Pisau. This is realized through the implementation of the Huma Betang Sejahtera Card (KHBS), which includes ID card-based healthcare services, educational assistance, and economic empowerment.
Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan, Edy Pratowo, added that thousands of Pulang Pisau residents are currently registered as KHBS beneficiaries. In addition to social assistance, the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government also focuses on human resource development through a fully funded 1-year diploma (D1) vocational education program in agriculture. Graduates of this program will later be deployed in the Food Brigade to strengthen the food security sector at the regional level.
The Provincial Government invites all elements of society to continue synergizing and making positive contributions to regional progress. Synergy between the central and regional governments is expected to lead Central Kalimantan to become a more prosperous, advanced, and dignified region. (Source: MMC Kalteng)
