Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) has officially strengthened its strategic partnership with Université Paris-Saclay, France, to enhance the quality of international-scale education and research. This collaborative step was achieved during The 14th Indonesia–France Joint Working Group (JWG) held in the city of Angers, France, in early July 2026.
The ITB delegation, led by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, emphasized that this cooperation covers various educational schemes, ranging from undergraduate (2+2) and master's double degree programs, student exchanges, to joint doctoral supervision (joint Ph.D. supervision).
Université Paris-Saclay, known as one of Europe's leading research ecosystems ranked 70th in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2026, offers excellence in the integration of academic education and industry practitioners. ITB students participating in this program will have internship opportunities with Paris-Saclay's industry partners to strengthen their professional competence at a global level.
In addition to focusing on student mobility, both institutions also agreed to promote joint research addressing global challenges, such as energy issues, connectivity, as well as the development of quantum technology and artificial intelligence (AI). This scheme is expected to spur innovation through collaborative capstone projects and increased faculty interaction, including through visiting professor programs.
This initiative is a concrete step by ITB to expand the reach of its global network, while providing Indonesian students with exposure to world-class education and research standards integrated with modern industry needs.
