The Regional Government of North Central Timor (TTU) warmly welcomed the working visit of the Directorate of Health of the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) of the Republic of Indonesia at the Napan State Border Post (PLBN), North Bikomi District, on Thursday (9/7/2026). The presence of this central delegation is a tangible expression of the state's concern for supporting public health on Indonesia's front porch.
Deputy Regent of TTU, Kamillus Elu, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative. According to him, this program does not merely provide free medical services, but serves as a symbol of state presence that directly impacts improving the quality of life for residents in border areas directly adjacent to Timor-Leste.
Furthermore, Kamillus emphasized the importance of a prosperity approach in maintaining regional sovereignty. For him, national defense relies not only on military strength, but also on the health resilience of the community. Healthy citizens are a strategic asset in maintaining social stability and national security in border regions.
In his address to the attending residents, the Deputy Regent also encouraged the importance of a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) as a preventive measure. He expressed hope that cross-sector synergy, from the central government and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to village officials, can be maintained to ensure sustainable programs capable of boosting economic and social welfare in TTU Regency.
The event concluded with appreciation extended to all involved healthcare workers and volunteers. The TTU Regency Government is committed to continuing to foster collaboration with relevant ministries to accelerate infrastructure development and community empowerment in border areas, making them increasingly competitive and self-reliant.
