Heading into the upcoming 2026/2027 BRI Super League competition, Persebaya Surabaya has begun taking progressive steps by integrating a sport science approach into the team's routine. Bajul Ijo is now utilizing VALD technology to ensure players' physical conditions remain at an optimal level throughout the season.
Persebaya Operational Director, Candra Wahyudi, emphasized that the club's achievements do not rely solely on technical quality on the pitch. According to him, a robust medical department supported by cutting-edge technology is a crucial asset to keep players' performances stable and minimize injury risks.
This investment in VALD technology demonstrates the management's commitment to creating a professional support ecosystem. In addition to equipping supporting tools, the management is also forging strategic collaborations with various parties to strengthen the quality of healthcare services for all team personnel.
Persebaya Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pratama Wicaksana Wijaya, added that the implementation of this technology elevates medical examination standards to a deeper level. Through functional movement assessment, the medical team can accurately map muscle strength, explosive power, and biomechanical analysis.
This method complements the standard Pre-Competition Medical Assessment (PCMA) procedures usually conducted. With comprehensive data, the medical team can design more measurable recovery programs while detecting signs of fatigue or physical imbalance before they lead to serious injuries.
