LABUHANBATU - To strengthen friendly relations and maintain a conducive security situation, Commander of Military District Command (Dandim) 0209/Labuhanbatu, Lieutenant Colonel (Cavalry) Hanung Kaptiaji, held a 2026 FIFA World Cup joint viewing event (nobar). The activity, which took place at Warkop Gelas Batu, Padang Bulan Sub-district, Rantau Utara District, was attended by around 150 local residents on Sunday (12/7/2026) morning.
The atmosphere of togetherness was strong as the quarter-final match between Argentina and Switzerland was broadcast on a large screen. The match, which ended in a 3-1 victory for Argentina, successfully broke down barriers between the TNI, local government officials, and civil society, who blended together while cheering for their favorite teams.
Lieutenant Colonel Hanung Kaptiaji explained that this agenda was not merely for entertainment. According to him, relaxed moments like this serve as an effective means to strengthen bonds and build two-way communication among the TNI, government, and public to maintain security in Labuhanbatu.
Furthermore, this initiative, launched by Koramil 08/Rantau Prapat together with the District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam), aims to cut through bureaucratic barriers. With close communication, the exchange of information regarding regional security is expected to be faster and more responsive.
The viewing event was also attended by Chief of Staff of the Military District Command (Kasdim) Major Inf Sondang H. Tanjung, Danramil 08/RP Captain Inf J. Sembiring, sub-district heads, village heads, mass organization representatives, community leaders, and college students. The presence of local leaders mingling directly received positive appreciation from residents, who expressed hope that similar activities will continue to be held regularly in the future.
