The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jombang Police has finally dismantled a motor vehicle theft syndicate that had been troubling the public. This gang is known to have carried out their actions at 14 locations that serve as centers for entertainment activities within the jurisdiction of the Jombang Police, East Java.
In the arrest operation, the police secured four suspects strongly believed to be the main perpetrators. The suspects are YP (38) from Mojokerto City, WBS alias Jepang (37), a Tulungagung resident residing in Bandarkedungmulyo, and two other perpetrators, AA alias Kodok (32) and AS alias Budi Gopel (37), who are also residents of Mojokerto.
The modus operandi carried out by this gang targeted vehicles belonging to visitors in crowded areas. The police are currently still investigating the case further to uncover a potentially wider network and to secure motorbike evidence suspected to be the result of the vehicle thefts.
