PT Phoenix Resources International (PRI) has once again demonstrated its commitment to community empowerment by organizing a free medical treatment and health check-up program. The event, which took place at the Juata Permai Village Office in Tarakan City on Sunday (28/6), successfully attracted around 200 residents eager to have their overall health conditions checked.
In this agenda, which is part of the "Community Development Batch 7" program, the community gained access to medical services including blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, and blood pressure checks. The medical team on duty also provided health consultations and distributed free medicines based on the diagnoses made on site.
PT PRI's Community Development Person in Charge, Ari Ristanti, stated that this initiative is designed to facilitate access to healthcare services for the community while educating residents on the importance of early detection. Since its inception in 2023, the company has consistently made the health sector a primary pillar of its social responsibility in its operational areas.
The success of this event was made possible through cross-sector collaboration involving the Tarakan City Health Office, PMI Tarakan, as well as support from Community Service Program (KKN) students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT). Tarakan City Health Office representative, Irwan Yunanda, highly appreciated the synergy between the business sector and the government, which is deemed strategic in achieving a better standard of public health.
Similar enthusiasm came from the participating residents and students. Fitriani, a resident of RT 20 Juata Permai, expressed her gratitude for the program, which she felt greatly helped their basic health needs. Echoing this sentiment, KKN student representatives from UGM and UBT emphasized that their involvement in this social action provided valuable experience in sustainable community service efforts.
