PT Wahana Lestari Investama reinforces its commitment to operational sustainability by adopting the microbiology-based waste treatment technology, ECOTRU™️. This initiative is realized through a strategic partnership with PT Esa Maha Karya Tunggal as a provider of eco-friendly waste treatment solutions.
The application of this technology aims to reduce the water pollution load, eliminate unpleasant odors, and maintain the integrity of the aquatic ecosystem around the pond area. In initial observations at three operational points, the use of ECOTRU™️ for three days was proven to transform the initially thick waste into a visually clearer state.
The Manager of PT Wahana Lestari Investama, Mr. Ong, expressed his appreciation for the effectiveness of the technology in decomposing complex organic compounds such as fat, protein, and cellulose. According to him, the tangible results seen in the field provide confidence that this natural method is the right step to raise the company's operational standards for the better.
The Director of PT Esa Maha Karya Tunggal, Eka Lestari Sinaga, explained that the main advantage of this technology lies in the use of natural organic materials without involving hazardous chemicals. By accelerating the biological decomposition process, this method helps restore the balance of the pond's environmental ecosystem, which is often affected by intensive aquaculture activities.
This step also received support from the relevant authorities. The Head of the Center for Environmental Control for the Sulawesi Maluku Region, Dr. Azri Rasul, emphasized the importance of a measurable microbiological approach in handling industrial waste. A similar view was expressed by the Head of the Environmental Agency of Central Maluku Regency, Drs. Hengky Tomasoa, who values this cross-sector collaboration as an ideal model for other business actors to create a balance between business productivity and environmental preservation.
