dr. Djasamen Saragih Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Pematangsiantar City, has officially reactivated its Catheterization Laboratory (Cathlab) services. This X-ray-based medical technology facility is once again accessible to the public under the BPJS Kesehatan insurance scheme.
Cathlab technology allows medical teams to perform diagnostic procedures and treat heart and blood vessel disorders minimally invasively. The advantage of this method lies in its ability to address cardiovascular abnormalities without the need for major surgery, resulting in a faster expected recovery for patients.
The Director of RSUD dr Djasamen Saragih, drg. Irma Suryani, MKM, stated that her team has prepared all infrastructure and services to align with the operational regulations set by BPJS Kesehatan. The reactivation of this service received official approval from the Pematangsiantar Branch Office of BPJS Kesehatan and became effective on July 1, 2026.
The Mayor of Pematangsiantar, Wesly Silalahi, SH, MKn, expressed his appreciation and full support for this strategic step. He noted that the return of Cathlab services at this regional government-owned hospital is a concrete effort to improve healthcare accessibility for city residents.
Furthermore, the hospital management is urged to maintain service standards and comply with all existing regulations. This is part of the Pematangsiantar City Government's commitment to realizing a healthy and harmonious city vision for all levels of society.
