Vietnam's Ministry of Construction has officially launched a series of activities for the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Action Month and Workers' Month 2026. This initiative reinforces the government's commitment to prioritizing safety amid the ongoing acceleration of national strategic projects.
Deputy Minister of Construction, Bui Xuan Dung, in his speech emphasized the importance of shifting the paradigm from reactive measures to proactive prevention. According to him, occupational safety is not merely a legal obligation, but a crucial element for industrial competitiveness and sustainable development. This move follows a recorded 15 percent decrease in workplace accidents across the construction sector throughout 2025.
To achieve better safety targets, the government will adopt digital technology, big data utilization, and artificial intelligence (AI) to conduct real-time risk monitoring at every construction site. This innovation is expected to provide early warnings for project managers to make critical decisions in the field.
In addition to technological innovation, the Ministry of Construction is committed to continuously improving the regulatory framework and tightening supervision on high-risk projects. The Construction Workers' Union also stated its readiness to assist businesses in establishing a deep-rooted safety culture down to the smallest production unit level.
As a gesture of appreciation for workers' contributions, the ministry also provided direct assistance to workers facing economic hardship. All industrial units under the ministry's auspices have now signed a joint commitment to enforce safety protocols with stricter standards across the country.
